Peggy gave us some luscious colors for this week's Color Challenge: Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding and Garden Green, with the option of a sentiment on the front of the card for dessert. Fortunately for me, the challenge rules tell us that if we don't have the exact color, to use whatever we have that's closest.
I don't have Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding, so I went with two retired colors that are very close, Groovy Guava (In Color from 2007-2008!) and Certainly Celery, a recently retired core color. Since I was using so much retired stuff, I decided to make this a card full of retired items, and also used retired Confetti Cream cardstock, the Fun Flowers die (still available but on the retirement list, so hurry!), and even sponged the petals with retired Cameo Coral ink.
To make the flower, I cut four of the smallest flower on the die, and used the Faux Suede technique to separate the layers of the cardstock, giving me eight layers for the flower.
Now I need a retired friend who's having a birthday, and this card will find a home!
