Somewhere around here, I have some cork. I have not seen it since I bought it...probably 5 yrs ago. When I'm not looking for it, I will find it. That's the way it works. It must be a law or something. So I hope my use of a paint chip I die cut into rectangles & the use of aluminum foil for the other die cuts will be good enough.
With all the shiny silver foil, I had a terrible time trying to photograph this. It reflected everything in front of it! I had to hold a white blanket over myself to keep it from reflecting my blue sweater & in the end it still picked up some of the color from the maple cabinetry behind me, so thatÂ’s the slight goldish color you see on the top section.
I started by using a glue stick to apply heavy duty aluminum foil to piece of card stock. I die cut some of using the Heart Scroll and Love dies..a long narrow piece using the poppy die, & the rest I embossed with a folder for the background on the right. I used a rectangle die to cut the small rectangles on the left out of each of the shades of grey/black from a large paint chip. They were attached to a strip of white then to the larger black background. The 3 small hearts were all negative pieces from the Love die. I actually cut two of the Love diesÂ…one out of the foil covered card stock and one out of black and I attached them on top of each other, slightly offset.
Thanks so much for looking! Closeups are on my blog: The Write Stuff

LOL at holding a white blanket in front of yourself - I do remember so well having trouble last time I used foil for something. I was nearly going to use heavy foil like from a disposable pie dish - but I knew where my cork was! I'm sort of glad you didn't, because this is totally gorgeous, into my favourites.

(It took my 15 min to find my cork, Julie....you are not alone!) Love your creativity in coming up with an alternative and creating this beautiful card. Lovely die cuts that you chose to put together in this elegant design.
(I apologize for late comments on your card. We lost power, then we lost our WiFi until this FRI AM.)

I'm trying not to giggle at my mental picture of you trying to hold that blanket and take a picture at the same time. I had the same problem with a card I used Shimmer Sheets on; a blanket is not something I would have thought of. Even so, the card is fabulous, and so is the picture. The heart die is beautiful, and the design is awesome!
