I learned this technique in the Online Stencil class - I placed the polka dot stencil over a piece of white card stock and then applied Versamark ink over the holes. Remove the stencil and apply white embossing powder and heat it (don't forget to remove the stencil before applying the powder - ask me how I know that!!). I then applied Distress inks with a blending tool over the entire piece of card stock trying to create an ombre look and then wiped the panel with a cloth to get any ink that might be on the embossed parts. I cut the sentiment from black card stock with the PaperTrey die.
ETA this also qualifies for MIX54 - hearts with at least two kinds of media. I have heat embossing, distress inks and a 3D heart sticker.
