Ann Sexton whose quote I have bungled by leaving out the LAST word...which was 'hard'. 'Put your EAR down close to your SOUL and listen HARD'. I loved that when I read it during some quiet time yesterday. And I knew it would end up on a card...
Thanks Toni for nudging me to get out the few Washi tapes I do have and play with them this morning. It was fun! There are actually 4 different ones on the card roughly following the sketch from yesterday...and awesome one I might add.
I stamped the wonderful music score (CHF) on the bottom panel and embossed in Sea Foam White..I wanted to hint at the music playing in our souls. The quote was created in Photoshop and then I cut it with a Spellbinder circle die.
Truly the star of this card is my vintage man kicking the wall because he is not HEARing something that is pleasing to him on the old fashioned telle. This is from 'local stamp genius' from my town who has now gone from us. Jim had a strong love of illustrations from line art at the turn of the 20th century. He 'translated' many into rubber. I remember meeting him when I first began stamping and was just amazed at his passion and his gift! What is not quite apparent in this photo is that there are teeth butting up against the telephone where said man has become so frustrated he blew his teeth out! They are tiny, but there. Also difficult to see is the receiver in his hand.
I loved having this come together! And many thanks to Ann Sexton for listening hard to the musings of her soul! Thanks for stopping by and if you have time, I'd love to listen HARD to what you are hearing...
editing to add: did I really use the word 'from' three times up there...that's what I get for speed uploading and thinking at the same time! leaving it for the laugh...big smile

Wow! Another great card in the style of Susan. No hard done leaving off the last word as the message comes across. I like the matching brights next to the Black and White.

Susan, this is so cool. Love the sentiment, the EF you used, the angry man kicking the telephone. All very thought provoking. Love how you tied it all in with this week's sketch too. TFS.
