As much as this is a birthday card for Myrtle, this is my happy place, too When I was working, I had a tropical island scene for my desktop on the computer.
Myrtle has always wanted to see the ocean, so the people at the Swiss Villa have planned a huge tropical type shindig to celebrate Myrtle's 104th birthday!
I've made up this totally tropical scene for Myrtle. All was going well until, I went to make the sun. Though it was an hour or so later, that darn ink from the palm tree still hadn't dried, and I even used the heat gun on it. Anyhow, there's a couple of unintended smudges in the scene. I've discretely covered one, but the other just wasn't going to be covered. One bird is a little blurry, maybe that's cuz it's moving at a good pace, or maybe the bird that's in the lead just had to go, and then again, maybe not. Dang!
I've got the sandy beach in there (it's real, it's adhered pretty well, but some does come off), and there's a lei for Myrtle (too bad it's so darn small)! On the inside is a row of thongs for Myrtle to choose from . No not that kind, the kind for her feet.
The lei is made with a bunch of tiny flowers and seed beads.
I couldn't fit a kitty on this scene, so it's on the address sheet. With all the lumps and bumps, this card is going into a clear box.
Keep in mind, I ain't no artist (though I did pull this out of my head), and this looks a lot better IRL, well maybe!

An absolutely stunning card. Had to laugh when I read the part about you not being an artist. Are you kidding me?! If that card isn't a work of art, I don't know what is!!! Also, I have no idea what "smudges" you're talking about. That card is absolute perfection!

Wonderful scene, Jennifer! Like the sparkly sand and shells. Your sun and shadowing on the water looks terrific. I never saw the smudge til you pointed it out. I thought it was part of the bkgrd sky inking. Nice b.d. card for Myrtle.
