Decided to try the mixed media challenge since I have a bit of creativity slump. Made the background according to the video using Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint and Northern Pine Memento then brushed lightly two times with gesso. After it dried I sponged more Northern Pine on the edges and corners. I lightly airbrushed white cardstock since my sponging seemed to get very sloppy lately and stamped my favorite new stamp from kitchensink stamps, pine trees. Embossed in gold the sentiment from Technique Tuesday. Fun, fast and easy.

I've never tried mixed media but every time I see a piece of art like this I get a little closer. Your background contributes a wonderful depth to this card and really lets the stamping shine! What an beautiful card and perfect sentiment to finish it off. I am also blown quite away by your previous upload of the snow drifts and conifers. These are very inspirational since now is the time of year I make my Christmas cards. Thanks so much for sharing.

Hi Nancy, love how the background turned out. Love pine trees and this one is gorgeous, and it looks so beautiful framed in that oval. The stitching looks especially nice around the card and that little flourish you did with it is so clever. Beautiful card.
Hugs

This is just so special! Your sponging is delicate, and the two layers of ink and gesso give it a foggy-morning in winter feel. I can almost smell the pine. Thank you so much for playing my challenge - you've done awesome work!
