I love the way newly budding leaves often are tinged with red, as though they are saluting the fall leaves that came before them.
I used a MS cloverleaf punch in a 2-inch square piece of transparency. I ran the 6.25-inch by 3.7-inch cardstock through the computer to get the sentiment. Then I placed the transparency over the card and sponged in the Wild Wasabi and Cherry Cobbler ink; I removed the transparency, aqua-painted a Sahara Sand background and added some outlining with the fine tip of a Cherry Cobbler marker.

So true about the new leaves that come out! They are really sweet looking. I have a Japanese Maple, and it goes in the opposite direction of other deciduous trees. The beginning leaves are the brightest, mostly burgundy and as the year progresses they turn to red then rust then orangy and finally almost green, then it's time for them to fall off. Isn't that amazing? Beautiful cas card with a perfect sentiment~

What a lovely thought! The maple trees here are all budded in red ready to open up with their green dressing. I'll always think of them saluting the Fall!
