I am having so much fun playing with mixed media that I went forward with another idea based on this. I also wanted to make a card to honor our Queen for the Day susanbri, choosing to CASE this pretty card with the scored layout and boxed sentiment. I used Crumb Cake for my scored card base using versamark and black ep for my sentiment. My main panel was a multi step process. I took a dictionary page and painted it with matte Gesso and let it dry overnight. I embossed my poppies with Versamark and black detail ep. I used the marker layering technique with a first step of Riding Hood Red and Old Olive and some definition with Real red and Always Artichoke. I took a Sahara Sand marker to add the shading. I added some more Gesso which took a bit of the red and spread it into the bg. I then masked the flowers and spritzed with blue reinkers and water. Last I added some Island Indigo sponging.
*For more photos of the process check outmy blog post
*Since Theresa used this for a sample for her Mixability challenge to use masking, I've added this to the MIX5 gallery
