Happy Tuesday everyone. Here is my card for this weeks teaparty. A duck in the city is a duck out of water! Jake's a duck and should live on a lake for goodness sake! Here is the link to the Teaparty story.
Bring masculine outdoorsy cards, extra points if it features a lake or deer, or birds, or chipmunks or rabbits. Our recipient has a good sense of humour (humor for those South of the border) so funny cards are also welcome. Please no frilly cards. Masculine is the key.
Here is Chuck the Buck overlooking lake Winnepeg and his duck buddies flying overhead. They are waiting for Jake and Jen to come flying in for a visit.
This week our destination is Winnipeg, MB Canada. If you would like a destination for your card, how about sending it to Bob? Bob was brought to our attention by his daughter, our fellow Teapotter, Charlene (crystaldolphins). Many of you are familiar with her gorgeous creations. Here is a link to her gallery, if you'd like to see her cards!
Charlene's father has had some health issues that required emergency surgery during the summer and under the care of specialists recently underwent an all-day, high risk surgery. Things went well and an update from Charlene is as follows, in her own words:
Dad had surgery on Oct. 16th and the doctor is very pleased. Although he has quite a recovery period ahead, they removed all of the cancer! He will be in the hospital probably until the first week of November as they have to ensure everything is working as it should. We are very thankful and so relieved that they did (and were able to do) the surgery. There were numerous ways this could have gone bad but it didnÂ’t!
Plus last weeks queen for the day challenge.
AudreyAnn is our latest Queen. I absolutely love AudreyAnn's gallery - I needed a masculine card for the Teapotter Party this week - I chose her Noble Deer card - one from 2006.
I used the same image, used hardware hodgepodge, losts of distressing, I used the sanded backgrounder stamp instead of the canvas backgrounder, made my card 5 1/2" square. I hope you are enjoying your reign - Queen AudreyAnn.
This also works for Fridays Free 4 All challenge - to use distressing on your card.
I stamped the Noble Deer image onto water colour paper using memento black ink. I stamped the tall tree on the right lower corner (Lovely as a tree), thenI stamped two smaller trees behind the tall tree (Victorine originals). I extended the grass on the lower right corner to make the scene a little bigger. I drew in the mountains. Stamped the trees at the waters edge (from Noble deer set). I also sponged light brown in into the water - to have the mountains reflecting in the water. Used a white gel pen for the cloud reflection. Then I used my aquapainter on the water to blend in the clouds/tree relection. Stamped on the ducks (Victorine originals). Coloured image with Stampin up and tombow markers. Stamped over the image with Stampin Ups weathered backgrounder - using vintage sepia. Sponged on the clouds using my large scalloped cloud template. First I used soft sky and then in several places I sponged on bashful blue. Added diamond stickles to the water. Matted image with dark green and black. All edges were distressed and sponged. Sewed around edge of image panel. Added the hodgepode and brads. Base card is 5 1/2" square kraft cardstock. Stamped the smaller trees from Lovely as a tree onto kraft c/s. Stamped over with weather backgrounder (vintage sepia ink). Added the black 1" strip across the middle of the base card. Distressed edges. Image panel is popped up.
Thanks for looking,
Hugs..Pat

Oh my goodness, gorgeous! I love how you took the Noble Deer stamp and added to the scene with other stamps. Beautifully colored, especially love the sparkle on the water. What a treat for Bob's eyes!

Gosh, Patricia, that is one fabulous outdoors scene you have created, and such a wonderful masculine card. I so nearly bought Sanded today, and looking at this I am regretting I didn't.
