So this is my last card for the HYCCT challenges of 2012! I've had so much fun participating in the challenges and chat and sending my cards off to cancer patients. My mom is 1 1/2 years since her breast cancer diagnosis so it has been extra sweet for me to participate.
The last challenge from Lydia was A Walk in the Woods and I think my One Layer nature scene qualifies. I love the changes of seasons and had originally thought to make a Fall scene, but between today's Ways to Use it Challenge to use no fall colors and the thought of the hope of the rebirth of all in Spring, I'm glad I went with the greens today. I tore two strips and masked off my scene then sponged the top half in Tempting Turquoise and the bottom in Certainly Celery. I stamped the bare tree image in Soft Suede then used the multi dot flower from Watercolor Minis in 3 more greens for the trees. I added scored lines and stamped my sentiment in Garden Green for my OLC.
I'll be putting my last cards into clear envelopes and getting my final package ready to send off the MD Anderson. Hope they bring a little joy into a lot of lives!

Wow! Fantastic card to end the challenges with! Love the color that you added to the trees and your sponging looks fantastic. I'm always too afraid to tear anything for fear that I'll rip it the wrong way! Your sentiment and score lines are just perfect too!

This one is definitely going into my favorites! Your masked background is stunning, and the way you added the leaves to the bare trees is beautiful. The score lines add dimension to this gorgeous one-layer card.

I love your one-layer card. The score lines add some nice dimension. I'll have to look for the multi dot flower from Watercolor Minis as I really like that effect.
