I needed to make a card to send a gift card to my 18yo niece. I thought I'd give the Technique Lover's Challenge Twisted Card a try. My niece loves vintage stuff and I'd just seen these pretty flowers today https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=1&theater so I decided to use pages from an old dictionary for my flower. I used this tutorial from Valita's Designs for the flower http://valitasfreshfolds.blogspot.co...unch-rose.html. I sponged with Soft Suede and spritzed with home made shimmer spray. I chose to close the front fold and layer over it. I used the Weathered bg stamp and was able to line up both halves by lining up the edge of the stamp with the fold on both pieces. I glued some lace trim along the edge and threw a couple of black flourishes behind my flower.

This is such a unique card shape and I love how you have stamped the bg with the weathered stamp and let your fantastic flower stand out!! Love the addition of the lace too!!

Love, love your flower, Gail. My dad has an old dictionary which he is meant to have stuck a label on saying I want it, to remind him not to throw it out. I live in hope!!

I love it. The vintage look works so well with this blue and the old newsprint. You have reminded me to get out the weathered bg and start using it again. It is perfect for this type of card.
