First, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for all the kind words and thoughts and prayers for our family these past two weeks. We have needed every single one of them.
In last week's freak weather storm a tree fell on DH when he and our 14yo DD took the dogs for a walk before the storm hit. The wind just picked up before they had walked 10 steps and sent a huge tree branch crashing into DH. He has a broken back and a broken leg. Those are going to heal just fine and we are so very grateful! And DD was not harmed in any way, which is a miracle as she was walking right behind him.
Our biggest problem is that bc of the trauma his spinal chord is swollen and causing nerve problems to his hands and arms. So at this point, we're out of the hospital and into a rehab facility for about a month to get the use of his hands back up to speed. Then home (hopefully) for out patient rehab to begin walking after his back and leg have healed.
The only uncertainty now is how much use of his hands and arms he will get back once the swelling is down, but the docs think he'll eventually get it all back so we are in wonderful spirits here and thanking God every day for miracles. Whoohoo!
The card---one of our favorite fairy tales is Beauty and the Beast so I used the enchanted rose as my inspiration. The flower is stamped and colored with alcohol markers, then embossed over and over with UTEE for the 'glass.' Then while the UTEE was still hot I sprinkled microbeads around the edges.
Thanks for looking!

I think this is my favorite card for the challenge today and my, oh my...what trouble. I am so sorry for your husband but the prognosis sounds good. Try to be positive and optimistic...thinking of you.
