I wanted to play along in both the Queen for the Day Challenge QFTD109.... Our new Queen is... suen by TrishG at Splitcoaststampers in honor of Sue aka suen, and today's Free for All Challenge "Mix 'N Match" F4A113 - "Mix 'N Match" - 04/20/12 by Wendybell at Splitcoaststampers where we are to use 2 or more patterns of dp mixed together. I also had this burlap flower that I made last week that hadn't found a home on a card yet. I used this tutorial to make my quick and easy flower http://www.thetidynest.com/2010/02/b...-tutorial.html. You simply cut the burlap after folding following her directions, pinch the middle and use a tiny rubberband to secure, then cover that with twine. I am working on a scrapbook and had out all sorts of retired dp and thought this fall colored paper would work well with the burlap. My card uses the layout from suen's much cuter card FS263 Blushing Bunny by suen at Splitcoaststampers. Congrats to Queen Sue....you should check out her gallery! I found TONS of great cards and many that I already had in my faves or remembered from previous challenges.

Pretty card! Neat idea with the burlap and pinching it and holding it together with elastic then covering it! I usually get stuck with what to do after the pinching part! Thanks for sharing!

Gail, you so captured Sue's style with this lovely card. Your burlap flower is FAB...as are your selections of DPs. Really a very distinctive looking card.
Very pretty card, Gail! I LOVE that cool burlap flower and how you made the center! Gotta make a note of that! The combination of stripes and polka dots is one of my favorites! Thanks so much ofr CASEing one of my cards.
