(Sometime card names are the hardest part!) My friend asked me to make a card for a retiring Air Force friend who likes hiking, camping, boating etc. I decided to go "woodsy" as that was what I have in my arsenal. I started by making a faux wood piece using a base of More Mustard and swiping Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Chocolate Chip. I then used the Distressed Texturz plate to add the wood grain and sponged Early Espresso over that. I added some lines with a marker. I also embossed the Early Espresso cs with the same plate. I inked my tree image with Handsome Hunter then used a wet Qtip to remove the ink from the trunks and used a marker to ink them with Early Espresso. I used Square Nestabilities to cut the image and framing. I sponged Garden Green and Bashful blue on the image piece. I used a piercing tool and added some mini brads....this meets the 3 or more Free for All challenge. I sponged my sentiment and also sponged the edges of the wood grain embossed tag. I popped this over a piece of distressed jute twine. The inside of the card says "let the relaxation begin.... happy retirement" and has a small sailboat image. I hope my customer and her friend like the results!
