Jen gave us the theme of "Leaves" for the CAS Challenge today.
My photo is deceiving. The leaf coloring is NOT on the top of the card, but on the back partof the inside(where you might normally stamp a sentiment). I die cut the leaf shape out of the front of the card....a leaf-shaped hole. On a separate piece of paper, I used TH stains and colored a square which I adhered to the back side of the inside(again, where you might stamp a sentiment). On the outside I ran my gray Copic around some of the cut edges for shading.....I think this little detail is what is causing the optical illusion. In the photo that all came off as a popped up colored image! One has to remember, a camera is taking a 3-D object and making it a 2 dimensional one.

I'm having one of those "brain dead" Mondays. I can't picture the process you explained, but I absolutely LOVE the results. Gorgeous card. Hopefully someone will post a tutorial soon for those of us who are visual learners..lol!
Just got your message...thanks I can see what you mean now...thanks for clarifying. I LOVE the idea and I'm off to try it out

I love the colors of your leaf - it looks so real. I stared at this quite a while trying to get past the optical illusion but couldn't! I'll have to try this to see what it looks like in real life!! This is gorgeous!
