Wonderful challenge (to use twine)! I know I have some, but where I put it only the shadow knows. So I hope the challenge police will let me slide since I used some heavy quiliting thread (almost as heavy as a lightweight twine). How timely! I'm also adding it to the new Fan Club Gallery - Star Spangled!
For my card, I stamped the soldier once in the blues and once in red then die cut a star shape out of the blue and attached it over the red one.
On the red bg, I stamped the Old Flag in red but it wasn't dark enough so it kind of disappeared. It only looks like a little texture now. Oh well. The sentiment was die cut w/ a portion of the tag die and I highlighted it w/ a white gel pen. I took a double strand of the quilt thread and did a little crochet chain thru the hole.
After distressing the edge of the red, I used the stitch piercer tool and whip stitched the edge. A couple of the star pieces were added behind the tag. The finished card measures 5.5 x 4.25.
Thanks so much for looking! My blog:The Write Stuff. Sorry! I had to delete a bunch of really old posts from my blog & this is one of them.

Awesome card and design. There is so much going on here and it's all good! Love your soldier image and the star you've die cut out and I love the whipstitching around the edge. Makes the whole card look like some kind of fabric creation!

Wow, Julie! This is so creative with the way you've stamped the image twice and framed it using a star! Your stitching all round the edges makes this very special too!

Julie, this card is so creative with the way you stamped the image twice in different colors...spotlighting it with the negative die cut! Into my faves!
