We attended our youngest daughter's university convocation a couple of weeks ago. We actually celebrated her achievement as soon as she finished school in April and I was so busy with 'other stuff' the week of her convocation that I never got a card made.
Since she finished university she has been working very hard to get her own photography business established and we are very proud and impressed by her efforts. She's headed here tomorrow so I thought I'd make her a card to let her know just how proud we are of everything she's doing to get herself established in a very tough business.
I ran off to my "Rubber Room" and made this layered flower after my pal Marisa posted this card with a link to Joanne Leddy's flower tutorial. I just didn't know how I was going to use it on a card at that point. As I enjoyed my 'stroll' through Patter's gallery last night I saw her "You Are the Sunshine Card" and I went from there.
Paired the flower with some of my beloved Parisian Breezes paper (so sad that it is retired), a border punch, a few die-cut leaves (sure wish that Little Leaves Sizzlet was a easier to use), a mini embossing strip and lots of sponging. I'm not so proud of my crooked sentiment (and my DD's design student instincts will notice it right off the bat) but that's one more reason I should just leave my Stamp-a-ma-jig on my desk at all times. Of course, once I got it all put together I spritzed everything with shimmer paint and I also painted the flower with some Crystal Effects.
PT: 9 punches to make the flower plus a few more for the borders. RYPH!!
Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day.
Hugs, Heather

Love the soft colors and that beautiful DP. . .but it all pales in comparison to that beautiful flower you've lovingly crafted!

Heather or Hilda or whoever you are ;) this is just gooooor-geous!! I love the DP that you chose and the punched edges are scrumptious. Love that embossing strip and all of the great sponging. Flower? To die for! Congrats to DD and best of luck in her new endeavors. Maybe I could start calling you Jeremiah to mix things up a bit... Hugz, love this!

Izzy, this is stunning. The colors are so soft and sweet and the punching is top notch - especially on that awesome flower (I need to go check out that link). I know you are proud of DD! How great she has all that motivation - must be her totally inspiring Mom of course! I hope she does really well in her new adventure. Give her a hug from me!

Well, this is lovely! I so miss this paper---one of my all-time favorites, and I have yet to try one of Joanne's flowers....they are SO pretty! Your daughter will treasure this---crooked sentiment or not!

I can't believe this. I clicked onto your card y/day and thought I had commented on it. Instead I went to the flower site and f/got all about my poor Diz! And, you thought I didn't care!!! I, too, love this dsp. 101Airborne was kind enough to share a few pieces she had left - what a gal! I love your border punching, sponging and BEE-U-TIFUL flower which is on my list to practice. Thanks for the site. If you get Dizzi enough you won't even notice the sentiment is a little off. I wouldn't have even notice. Bet you're waiting for Old Lady Benzi to send you a stamp-a-majig aren't you???? I'm still waiting on my newest requests too, but I forget what they were. Gave up on sewing machine! Hugs!

Absolutely gorgeous card, Heather! Love the flower (I've used that tutorial as well) and the punched sides and DP add to this beauty. Congrats to your daughter - I'm sure she will love receiving this beauty
