Congrats to Susan! I love all the CAS designs in her gallery. She makes it look so great and effortless. Unfortunately, I don't think I possess a CAS bone in my body. I try... really. But as I tell one of my parrots when he's trying to sneak into a cabinet b4 I shut the door, "it's just not gonna work out for you, bud" and it rarely ever does.
Taking that into consideration, this is almost as CAS as I can do. And my choice of Susan's Twinkling Birds was more of a color choice and layout. I kept those, but added a few more layers and die cut borders (this also fits the FC Gallery this month).
All images are Our Daily Bread designs and are brand new for May! This Porch Scene was also designed by the new Dirty Girl, Dina Kowal! (Y'all can see more on today's ODBD Hop.) So I first water colored a bg then stamped the scene. I lifted a little color in areas for highlights and used a white gel pen to enhance the highlights. I die cut the image out of the background then used a slightly larger die to make the background opening larger.
On the 5×5 ivory card front, I stamped the Vintage Border across the bottom, added a little color to the centers and used the Vintage Border Die across the bottom half only to cut the card edge. I made a few more of the borders on another piece of c/s, die cut them and added them under the frame and around the top of the sentiment tag.
The sentiment tag and lg square frame were both resized. I used one of the Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio for the sentiment and a long rectangle for the lg square.
Thanks so much for looking! Close ups, links and much more on my blog: The Write Stuff

Julie, you card is gorgeous and even tho' CAS is not your signature style, this card is beautifully done. The bg coloration is breath-taking and the image is really a beautiful one. Good going! : )

WOW, Julie, this is awesome. I saw the new release from ODBD and was wondering how this beautiful scene could be used. You did a fantastic job showcasing it there's no doubt about it and look at those challenges. It's good to see you again. I just had to comment when I saw this come up on the gallery. Take care!
