My SC325 card using Botanical Gazette DP and my favorite bird from Nature Walk. I already had the bird made, so the card went together very quickly. Can you believe no framing on my layers. I think I am being influenced by one of my favorite stampers "ReginaBD". No matter what Regina creates she comes out with a CAS style. She continues to amaze me. Regina is the one stamper and friend that really got me to doing more of the CAS Style. This card is not really CAS (Clean and Simple), but is for me :-)
I love adding textures to simple layers with my new favorite SU folders: Framed Tulips and Square Lattice.
The pretty bird technique: I inked the stamp with Black Stazon and stamped on watercolor paper. Then colored with Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy, Peach Parfait and Tangerine Tango markers and blender pen. Always use your lightest colors first. The magic came when I covered the bird with Versa Mark and EB with Clear EB powder using my heat tool. Boy, did the colors ever become vibrant after heat embossing. I then cut out the bird with my papersnips. That's it!
Enjoy and thanks Roxie for choosing a great layout and Regina for continuing to inspire me.

Nancy, this is AMAZING! I love how you've used the papers and images in this sketch and it flows so beautifully. The coloring and embossing on the bird is so neat - I am so impressed that you cut him out.
