I made this card with the perfect blend of challenges, in mind
When I saw the inspiration photo posted on the Flourishes blog, I immediately thought of a farmers wife having just picked some flowers, from her field behind the family's barn. So in keeping with the farm theme, I thought there might be some "Laundry" hanging on the line, as well, drying. ( - My Favorite Things, has a Banner challenge, and I thought this could look like a banner and a clothes line And after gathering the flowers, she would sit down to enjoy her morning coffee Clear Dollar Stamps has a "Thank You" card blog challenge, and here's where I think the lady is sitting on her porch, thanking God for the wonderful beauty of Creation, around her
~ That is my story of this card, and I have to say the card and story, came together so quickly! I enjoy those kinds of card days... They are so few and far between, for me - LOL ;)
I actually had this layout made last night and it wasn't working for me, the way I wanted it to. So I decided to play with it and came up with this card. I think this has to be my favorite card that I have made, so far
I purposely kept it monocromatic, as much as I could, because there is so much going on, on the front, that I didn't want to "overwhelm" the eye. You can't tell, but the small hanging cups are a nice light Pink, as is the cup the lady is holding. The clothes pins are darker too, not bright at all. I don't know why they are looking so bright and "out of place" in the picture. I tried to add a little more light in with Photoshop, because it's so dark, but it ruined the picture. So I left it dark, but the pink shows up nicely in real life - Sorry!
I also used extra thick foam to pop the card off the cream background to stand out a bit. And I used smaller popdots on the "hanging" cups and the image of the lady holding her coffee. I like depth, and dimention. Also giving dimention are the clothes pins, which are actually holding the scalloped circles.

You've created a beautiful card. I love those coffee cups and how you arranged them in a line with mini clothespins in the circles. Such a cute idea. Love the colors and papers you used too. Someone would really love to receive this card. Thanks for joining us on the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog!!

What a creative card! Having all the printed paper green and the pegs a contrasting blue makes this card jump right out of the screen. The hanging cups look so adorable. Whoever gets this card is lucky indeed! Well done!
