I made my own template then cut pieces from the colors I needed and rounded their bottoms using my colluzzle templates. I stamped the flower design using two stamps from the above set. It worked beautifully. The sentiment at the bottom is also from the same set. The finishing touch that pulled it all together was sponging with distress ink.
This was a fun challenge Dawn. Thanks for inspiring me.

So fabulous, Lisa!! I love the nesting dolls too but I only have two sets. I hope they have another of those Cultutal Fair events here at our Crossroads Mall again this year, I saw a table with the most beautiful Matryoshka dolls. If they do have one I'll have to let you know and maybe you could meet me there at the Starbucks!

This is just the greatest that you made your own template...gorgeous! I treasure one set of nesting dolls that my parents brought me from their travels to Russia many years ago.

DH is very impressed with this - so am I. I once had a funny modern Japanese one, but it got lost along the way. I still have a real Russian one - and my half-sister gave DH one of American presidents, with Obama on the outside.
Yours is just gorgeous, those strong colours are perfect, and I love the floral paper you used.
