Hi! I made this card for today's ways to use it challenge (edge distresser tool# and yesterday's sketch challenge.
I'm glad I didn't spend much time coloring in the background butterfly scene: it's pretty well covered up!! After heat embossing it in black ep, I water colored the wings using yoyo yellow (I thought I had the barely bannana ink pad!) and more mustard reinkers and an aquapainter. Then masked it and stamped more grasses and sponged in the sky and the bottom of the grassy area.
I added two panels using so saffron cs/paper, and on one I added the black punched butterflies (which mimic the yellow swallowtail); then I added the sentiment panel. I used my distressing tool around the edges of the largest so saffron panel (it isn't even, so the distressor draws the eye away from the flaws!!!) I love using my distress edge tool!! It gives cs a vintage look, and you can use it as much (to give a very distressed look to a project) or as little as you want (a very subtle look); I chose to use it just a little bit on this card!
