When I first saw the sketch challenge, I thought how cool this sketch would look with... wait for it... butterflies. But I have had butterflies on I don't remember how many cards in a row, so I challenged myself to not use butterflies. It was really hard. I was going through butterfly withdrawl. I decided to make this card for Mothermark, and use the little tea set of stamps that she sent me last week. I paper pieced the little tea cups, and kinda got carried away with the polka dots. The result... a fun, funky card that is so different from my usual style!!! Now I can go do this sketch and use butterflies.

Paper: dcwv dp and sea foarm, gold, black and white cardstock, light green mulberry paper
Ink: black stazon
Accessories: prisma colored pencils, ribbon,
Techniques: paper piecing
Difficulty (1-Easy 5-Advanced): 5- because there were no butterflies, and it was colors and dp that aren't my usual style. That made it very challenging for me.

This is such a cute, fun card! I love the layers of polka dots and the torn paper. And the tea cups are just adorable, and perfect for this card! I know what you mean about the butterflies-- I had to challenge myself the same way!!

Personally, I don't think anyone can go overboard with polka dots. This is so sweet and a great card for "Da Mudder". I love all the fun colors you used.
