My card if you didn't notice, has the word clue and arrows on it to look under the billiard table. There is also the tip of a rat's tail on the right hand side. If I hadn't seen this rat I might have missed the clue. I happened to see this rat run under the table. I thought what kind of manner has rats so I looked under the table and saw....
Well what I saw was proof that none of Mr. Boddy's guest is guilty. I had thought all along that they must be innocent. They all seemed to have air tight alibis. The guilty party is the gardner... Mike Flannery.
What none of Mr. Boddy's guests knew was that he had a terrible gambling problem. Just last week he had Mike come in a play a game of pool with him. Mr. Boddy had lost 6 games in a row and was sure that he would win the 7th game. (Can't use logic with a gambler.) He had already lost all of his money all that was left was the deed to his house. He had a note scribble quickly that he set on the side of the billiard table when he lost to Mr. Flannery, he crumpled it up and threw it under the table. When Mr. Flannery came over last night to collect on Mr. Boddy's gambling debts, Mr. Boddy laughed in his face and said that it had all been in fun.
Under the billiard table was the promisory note and a garden spade covered in blood. I think if the police go look at the new garden that was just planted they might find something other than flowers there.
The bigger mystery is who do you send a clue card to? The answer to that is my brother. We loved playing clue growing up. We also played a lot of pool. His birthday is this week on Friday. He will love this card. Even though I made him a card already this year. I guess he gets two.
Note on the making of the card. I did Lynn's tutorial for the recessed window to make the pool table.

I am in awe of you and your creative talent, Marilynn! This pool table is spectacular and your story told so well. Your brother will get a kick out of this special BD card.
Are you going to come out on the lawn and join Linda and I for a Long Island Iced Tea?

What you didn't notice, MariLynn, was the broken cuestick outside the window! Our fingerprint expert, Merniebug, could take a look and figure out who might have been angry enough to do such a thing!! The pool table idea is fabulous, GF......but did you also notice the 6 ball is missing? There's another clue!!!

Marilynn, what a story indeed, but you know what I say, if it looks like a rat, walks like a rat...well it is a rat. Have no clue to why I said that. I guess the rat got me going.
Love the pool table, and the technique for the window. Never really did that properly. Love your pool balls and the sticks. Beautiful card, I know your brother will love it. Good to see you.

With the arrows to lead us you would think we could find the real "bad guy" but oh no, we just keep looking. I think the gambling problem is the most promising motive.
This pool table is so creative, so MariLynn! You always come to the tea party with your best game that is for sure.

I too am wondering as Muddermark asked, "Did you go to investigator school or what?" So many clues yet so many answers needed. Cute, fun, clever and well done card. Love it! TFS :0)
