This card is my entry for today's Inspiration Challenge (IC187), to be inspired by one of the myriad posters at Posters.com. I was inspired by this poster:
I also incorporated last week's "Chinese Take Out" Limited Supplies Challenge (LSC226) to make a masculine card, and used (1) neutral images, (2) greens/browns, and (3) ribbon & brads as embellishments (I'm counting my embroider floss as a "ribbon.").
The pocket watch image is a free digital image from http://etc.usf.edu/clipart/sitemap/sitemap.htm . I printed it from my computer on two different shades of cardstock. I sponged the darker cardstock with metallic gold ink and then pieced the clock face cut from the cream cardstock.
I made the background paper by scoring cream cardstock on the bias and swiping my burnt umber ink pad lightly across the paper. I stamped the flourish in certainly celery in each diamond. The sentiment is stamped on vellum and affixed with brads (although the vellum is hard to see in my photo). Embroidery floss mimics the pocket watch chain. The watch is popped up on dimensionals.
I desperately needed more masculine birthday cards, so I'm pleased to add this to my stash.
Thanks for looking!!
Emily

lovin' that sentiment and it's really very true!!! I think about how old I am getting, but even though time goes by so quickly, it has taken me a really long time to get here....does that make sense? Love your pretty card!!!

This is a terrific masculine card (and a really nice watch - wish it were real!). I like how the chain flows outside the borders and LOVE your sentiment printed on vellum and then affixed by brads - GREAT touch!

Thank you for all the details in your card description. Lots of WOW factors - printing the image on two cardstock colors; the bonus features you added to the DP, the floss, the clip art site, wow wow wow!!!
Thank you so much for sharing.
