I am elated to be in the top 5 of the My Favorite Things Idol competition. This week we had to adhere to the theme of "Frame It".
When I think of frames I often think of photography and film, so with this line of thinking and with the vacation I took to California earlier in the week fresh on my mind, I decided to use a variety of My Favorite Things stamp sets to recreate some of the photos that are sitting in my digital camera from the trip.
I stamped the many images using Marvy Dye black ink onto Neenah white cardstock. I colored the images with Copic markers, and for many covered with a Versamarker and heat embossed the image using clear embossing powder. For many of the images/"photos" I used a brayer and sponged on various colors of dye inks. Sometimes too, I would sponge this dye ink as well and would add highlights using a white gel pen.
The film negatives were creative using black cardstock and a film strip punch from McGill punches. Patterned paper was used in a scrapbook frame to frame the entire creation. An order form for photo reprints was also included with this creation.
If you'd like detailed information on any of the photos, just PM me, and I'll be happy to give you the details on how what specific MFT stamps I used and ink colors. I just can't list them all here.
Thanks so much for looking. I've included a couple of close up photos with this post, as well as on my blog.... http://scarletandgray.blogspot.com/2...icture-my.html
On my blog, you will find a link to my Flickr account, which will allow you to see each individual "photo".
The best part of my trip to California this week was actually meeting mrupple, one of the Top 10 Idol contestants. She is just as kind in real life as she is here on Splitcoast. Hi Melody!
