Hi! This card was made for today's Color Combination Challenge: Basic Black, Pink Pirouette, and Whisper White.
Speedy the Cat ADORES my mother. He simply goes NUTS when she is visits. He sits on her lap and purrs and nuzzles her face. It's disgusting, and totally un-catlike!
Recently...last week...my mother has gotten new cancers. She now has stomach cancer and BREAST cancer....It's really horrible, and she's already on chemo, for leukemia, so there is really nothing left to do but wait.
Being a breast cancer survivor, myself, I find it ridiculous that this disease can manifest when someone is undergoing OTHER cancer treatment!
So, in honor of my mother, I have started a card drive for the women undergoing treatment for breast cancer in our city. There are 77 "breast cancer clusters" in our city, and that is staggering!
The background was run through the Cuttlebug Textile embossing folder. I rubbed the Pink Pirouette ink pad over the surface to shade the embossed areas.
The star was stamped in Pink Pirouette and the sentiment was stamped over the star in Basic Black.
The primas were WHITE! I pressed them into the Pink Pirouette pad and dried them with the heat tool. The leaves were punched out of Whisper White and then shaded with Pink Pirouette.

Thanks for sharing your story with all of us. I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I will have you both in my prayers. You are such a wonderful person to be doing a card drive for the women on your city, I'm sure they will all appreciate the lovely cards. Now on to your card... Absolutely gorgeous! I love the black butterflies, the texture, ribbon, primas, etc. Another one to frame.

WOW, Faith, this card is awesome and LOVE that sentiment!! You sound like a strong person and what a great mission to promote the card drive!! The 'C' diagnosis is a tough one, but tough friends like you will certainly make the journey more bearable.

Faith, this could conceivably be my favorite card that you've ever done - which is saying something, because all your cards are fabulous! This is an amazingly perfect sentiment on an amazingly perfect card, and you are an amazing person who consistently thinks of those around her first. I applaud you!
