Hello to all!! This week Stef has chosen the wonderful blend of colors consisting of Pear Pizzazz (which I have somehow lost so I had to substitute it with certainly celery), cherry cobbler and Garden Green. The dessert is using Metallics. Being that Veterans Day has past and Christmas is coming soon....what better than getting a surprise visit from a beloved service member. I want to thank everyone that has served this blessed country by sacrificing their time, safety, and lives for the protection of my loved ones and me. I am eternally thankful for your choice to defend our Freedom. Thank You!! I started my card out with masking the pine trees then hand drawing the road behind my figure, which I tried my darnedest to make her coat resemble the Army uniform. I colored the gifts then placed it on my desk. I looked at it and thought...now what?!? I walked away, them return about 15 minutes later and looked at it again...I thought...she needs to be meeting me at my door as a âIâm finally homeâ surprise present. So I placed the porch under her and the planters at the sides of the door. The image hit me harder than I thought! How I pray that God protects ALL our service men and woman so they too can live to see another Christmas with their loved ones. Iâm Hoping you all are enjoying the challenges so far. Thanks again Stef for choosing these wonderful colors.

Wow Kari, what a terrific card for Veterans Day! Your creative vision is amazing with your coloring and the background you created, which is spectacular!
The scene of your card is particularly meaningful to me as my husband's nephew is returning to civilian life this next week after 8 years in the Navy, including a year in the Persian gulf, and will be showing up on his parent's doorstep right before Thanksgiving. They are overjoyed to have him home and I can truly see him bringing gifts as your card depicts.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful creativity!

WOW!!! What a special card and so well thought out. I don't think there are many cards made with the idea of Veterans Day. When I first looked at your card, it reminded me of a nutcracker. You did a super job on this!!

Yay! She’s home before the snow! I love your image and how you tried to make it that bit special. I share with you a wish that service personnel all over the world stay safe in this uncertain world. X
