Okay....must be honest and say that this was made a while ago.....but has never been uploaded to SCS. It uses a technique from way back when.....TLC74. Beate has directions at the site of that challenge HERE. However, I do it just the opposite. This card from 2006 was the one I originally made for this old technique challenge. A flash from the past....lol.....
HERE are the directions I used on my card.
I must admit though that I do it the OPPOSITE of Beate's directions. I cover my glossy white cardstock with post it tape in any areas I want left white. I then sponge my first color over the entire area left open. After that I cover larger areas with post it tape, sometimes covering areas already taped. I then sponge on my second darker color. I then repeat the process with a third and darkest color. After you are sure it is all dry, you then remove all post it tape and.....voila....you have a retro design to play with.
I think my directions work best for me as it uses the same coloring technique that I use in Ukrainian/Polish egg decorating, known as pysanky. You build up to the darkest. So that is the way I go with this technique.
Thanks for looking.
added info...please forgive the reflection of the flash in the lower part of the card.....it is not meant to be there, obviously

WOW. I love the look of this, Joanne! Just super cool!! I have to try it the way you did it with pinks!
I love the colors you chose with that silhouette -- just really awesome! I never seem to have enough glossy paper!

Cool technique. Looks like fun. I like how you do this one. It might be good with different shades of same color. Looks great with the black silhouette stamp and the sentiment banner. Love the sentiment!! Nicely done. TFS

This looks like a difficult technique since so much relies on having a good design and balance to all the pieces. Your did a GREAT job, Joanne. It is striking.
