It's Teapot Tuesday once again and this week our cards are going to Jordan Reynolds of Texas. I hope all of our cards let Jordan and his family know that we are thinking of them, and that Jordans treatment goes well.
The story this week gave us a mini history lesson about the NBC World Series. I googled it and read so much my head started to hurt. I think baseball players only wear white, however Jordan loves royal blue....and so do I, hence all of our little team are wearing blue (oh and a splash of gold).
My intention this week was to make a CAS card with a solo baseball player as the focus. Unfortunately my brain is hard-wired for chaos, so a clean and simple card was always going to be a stretch. After an hour of trying CAS, I gave up and went back to a stair step fold card.
Team Jordan (and Alice the cheer leader) started out life as Mo's Digital Pencil digi stamps. Hector, Henry and Horace are wearing paper pieced uniforms and baseball caps. The uniform is actually one piece (light blue), I coloured the pants and shirt trim wth Copics to give a contrast. Liquid pearls were used to make buttons on shirt, belt and hat. The letter J on the boys caps was done with TH Distress Marker - Picket Fence.
No little people were harmed during the fussy cutting process this week, however that doesn't mean it was all smooth sailing. I was going to dab Hectors cheek with a subtle pink, but picked up a dauber soaked in Aged Mahogany.....we will now call that an inflamed cheek, bordering on a bruise. Henry has a few neat stitches on his little cheek but precious Horace is just fine.
Alice fell from the chicken wire fence during cheer leader practice and has a nasty wound on her leg. The sign is hand made using a brown Micron pen.
Thank you for looking and have a great week.

Hi gallery neighbour!! Susie, I love CAS cards but your step cards are always something to look forward to seeing. Jordan will just love this - your paper piecing is, as always, terrific and I love the liquid pearls for the buttons. Your baseball players and cheergirl look fantastic!!

OMGosh, I'm sure your CAS card would have been wonderful too (It always takes me a long time to make a CAS card, too LOL), but wow, what a fantastic card to send to Jordan this week! I LOVE your baseball scene, hope those poor little kiddies heal up soon.. It's so much fun to read about your creative process, too
