Omygosh - Couldn't wrap my head around this til late this afternoon. I love the Summer by the Sea set, but I always gravitate towards the young girl looking upward, so I forced myself to pick the little boy. I needed something 'sandy', so he was perfect choice with his sandcastle.
I stamped image & used gamsol technique, mounted on saffron then not quite navy.
BG paper is my own, using the shaving cream & olive, caramel & brocade blue (wanted something ocean-y looking).
After all put together, I took some sea salt (I use in place of mortons), added some caramel reinker & swished around & let it dry. Then dotted some glue across the sandy parts of the image & sprinkled the 'sand' then pressed down to adhere.
(Some of the salt was still damp, so left kind of a cool speckled look when I brushed away the excess).
The card on the left was nearly identical, but I did not add the 'sand' to that one.
I'm going to send these to Mindy for the Troops - looks like a perfect card for dad to send home if he's got a young man at home.
Thanks for looking.
