Stamps4funinca (Tosha) challenged our Monday CCEE group to make a card using the faux silk technique. I had never done this technique before, and I have to tell you, I'm in love with it! It was so much fun to do and looks and feels so kewl!!
You may be wondering about the title of this card. Do you remember when random dot stereogram's were all the rage? They are those pictures that you stare at one spot for a long time until you see the 3-D picture appear. Well, I used that technique to incorporate an owl into the main flower cause Cindy Haffner said we'd get bonus points if we did, and Stampowl said she'll give a prize to the best owl. Can ya see it, huh? I'm pretty positive that Hootsie (Stampowl) will pick me cause of my creativity.
I used a blender pen and reinkers to color my bg flowers onto the tissue paper. I dotted the flowers with a white paint pen, which is very subtle. I applied Puffy 3-D glue to the centers of the bg flowers with a little bit of purple glitter and heat set for some dimension and texture. I heavily sponged all my layers in the Lavender Lace. I used my 1/4" circle punch for the lavender dots on my scallops.

No, No, No I don't see it! You get the buzzer I think! I have been sitting here in my stamp room....staring at your card for 30 minutes and all I see is black and white dots! No owls I tell ya! Not an owl in sight! You were bad today. You did not comply with the challenge!
But, on a positive note.....I love your card....its wonderful. I have studied it long and hard and my conclusion beside the fact that you should be buzzed is that its really is a wonderful, beautiful card! Why'd you make it in purple?

This is GORGEOUS Charlene!! I love your circle medallion with that sparkly brad. But don't you dare try to claim Hoot's prize. You so can't fool me. I stared at that card forever and still don't see an owl!! Bwahahahaha
