 | | The theme for today's LS challenge is summer. Thank you, Jeanne, you're good at hosting, AND designing!
One of the most awesome times I had with my parents when I was young, was when they took just me (I have six siblings) on a summer vacation. The others had all grown and left the nest, and it was just my parents and I at home. With all the kids gone, they could suddenly afford to take me places like Marineland! It was the first time I had seen a show with trained marine animals, and I was so delighted with the sea lion, who had SO much personality. I thought of that precious time we shared, just the three of us, when I made this simple card. I also remember that day, their generosity knew no bounds. They bought me all the hot dogs and cotton candy I could eat, spoiled me with expensive (and useless!) souvenirs, and pretty much run themselves ragged, making sure I had a really fun day. I felt like the Queen of the world that day, and certainly very loved. That's why I chose the saying to go with this image; their love truly did lift me!
I colored the sea lion with Tombow pens and water.
The stand he is on is actually part of another stamp with a circus trainer and a hoop. I just inked up the stand portion and masked the sea lion and placed it under him.
Got to use my Score-Pal to make a scored frame, and a paper piercer. I kept it simple, as the challenge requires!
All stamps High Hopes.
