Created for challenge WT172. The bird stamp and sentiment are from Inkadinkadoo (available at Jacksonbelle Embellishments). The bird was stamped on Basic Grey paper, then colored with Copics.
I work in a studio that makes Mica lampshades, so we have boxes of mica scraps that are just waste... so I brought some home to see what I could come up with. This scrap was trimmed down to size with my rotary trimmer, then I punched small holes with my crop-a-dile and attached it to the paper with screw brads from Gina K. I like that you can still see a hint of the background paper underneath it - plus it give a nice glossy sheen! You can also separate the layers to make it more transparent if you want. Pretty cool stuff to work with!
I also pulled out my sewing machine for this one and stitched the edges of the layers. I forgot how much I love the look of machine stitching on a card.
Thanks for looking!

I was trying to work out the background till I read on - mica!! I thought it was UTEE on some nicely distressed background. It's great!! A very woody looking haunt for an amazing owl.

This is absolutely gorgeous!! I love the awesome textures, the Mica and the sewn borders do add so much. I need to start getting my sewing machine out and using it. TFS.
