ItÂ’s time for another Dirty Girl Challenge. Splitcoaststampers Dirty Dozen Current and Alumni get together each month and focus on a theme, and this month we had to make a card, decorate the inside; and the outside of the envelope!!
HereÂ’s what we had to follow:
Challenge Focus: "Inside & Out"......stamp and decorate both the inside of your card AND the outside of the envelope. (Any card size is ok) Please upload two photos.
Required Element: Patriotic element - interpret this any way you like (ex. color scheme, sentiment, image, whatever)
Restricted Element: No ribbon
Optional - Send your card to the troops so that they can in turn mail it home to family or friends (all themes and occasions welcome). If you choose to do so, Beate has agreed to accept them and send them to her husband. Please include the envelope with the card and mail them to Beate. Thanks!
I didnÂ’t use stamps on this card, I thought the Stars, and both Classic and Scalloped Heart Nestabilities would be perfect for the Patriotic theme this month.
First Heart: Take the largest heart in the set and cut/emboss Whisper White cardstock using the Wizard cutting and embossing system from Spellbinders.
Second Heart: Do the same as the first heart only use Night of Navy cardstock. Now cut the heart in half. Used Real Red cardstock to make the strips.
With the smallest stars in the die set cut and emboss Whisper White cardstock.
NOTE: I sponged everything with Creamy Caramel before gluing together.
Third Heart: With gold foil, cut and emboss the large scalloped heart.
I also used the foil to cut the letters and four small stars. I've become a HUGE fan of foil, itÂ’s so much fun to work with, and embosses beautifully.
For the inside of the card and the outside of the envelope, I used the smallest star as a stencil and sponged around it with Night of Navy, for the red and white strips, I used a scrap piece of paper and tried to make a strip then sponged around it.
