We have new neighbors! Yep; we're thankful we have new neighbors...you should always be careful what you wish for though. L...O...N...G story behind that one! But here's the card I made for them along with some chocolate chip cookies and chocolate chip/peanut butter cookies. YUM!
The base card is SU Positively Pink layered with striped DP. The roses are from SU's Roses In Winter set; I used the "smooshing" technique by Emily Giovanni - I LOVE this set; particularly since I learned this technique from Emily! I loved it before, but I think this technique gives the roses so much more depth. The base rose is stamped in SU Positively Pink, the next 2 sizes of roses are done with SU Cameo Coral. The medium size rose is 2nd generation (stamped off once before stamping over the SU Positively Pink), the smallest rose layer is 1st generation SU Cameo Coral. I intended the oval to be a bit off-center; I started off with an idea along this line in my head, but had to change it up a bit after stamping all the roses.
I cut the oval with Spellbinder's Nestabilities and then placed a piece of vellum between the layer of roses and the striped DP. I embossed the word "welcome" on the vellum using Brilliance Graphite Black and black embossing powder. Added the white organdy ribbon and we're good to go. TFL!
