I had to make my Dad a Father's Day card, so I decided to incorporate last weeks ways to use it challenge" - use Wire.
My card is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2". Lighthouse image was stamped with stazon jet black on glossy white card stock. I used the crayon resist technique - coloured the light house and houses with white crayon, then brayered on bravo burgundy, pumpkin pie and creamy caramel. I water coloured the roofs with bravo burgundy and the ground with creamy caramel. Used a wet paint brush to drag the colour away to give the light house beam and also to put streaks in the sky. Sponged the edges with black. Matted with CC and Basic black. Added the brads. Main card is textured black, next CC then black and then the dp (I thought it looked like waves). Sponged and distressed all edges. Stamped the creamy caramel vertical panel with cheese cloth using creamy caramel ink. sponged edges, matted with black. Made the word "DAD" with my wire writer. Stitched "Dad" onto panel, added the little fish charm. Wound the wire around the middle of the card, tied on the ribbon and charm. I wound wire around the ribbon, I think it looks like a big black bird carrying off a star fish.
