love the freedom in this sketch, Roxi...thanks so much for hosting this fabulous challenge!!!
I love reading MotherMark's stories...makes her art come alive to me. I like to relay stories through my work also...my art is personal~~~ intended to invoke a memory or strike a chord in the hand of its' recipient. This card is going in the mail to my aunt and uncle who celebrated their 50th anniversary yesterday! (oops...that's me ALWAYS late) My beloved uncle emailed me pictures of their wedding party and an adorable (if I say so myself) picture of my cousin and myself out front of the church...we were the flower girls. When I saw the sketch last night, I KNEW that picture would be the theme of my card! And 'new shoes' was born.
I just received this wonderful PaperBag Studio stamp. It is inked in black VersaColor black and glittered in "M"essy "S"tuff glitter (hey sparklegirl, I need a lesson in the art of not getting it everywhere). I cut and popped the image. I printed the photo out on my printer and cropped the shoes with those cute anklet socks. I mounted this panel with SU purely pomegranate. I stamped the word DANCE onto MME paper with Purple Onion's Playful Heart alpha. It is embossed in clear. I used a picot edged ribbon to further mat the sentiment along with the SU pp. My background eyelet paper is MM eliza eyelet. And then all is mounted as a kickstand card on SU pp.
So you might be wondering what those girls looked like 50 years ago? Well, keep watching...who knows where my next inspiration will take me! Thanks for looking, please let me know what you think~~~oh, yea, my feet are on the right!!!

How special that history and memories go into the art of this card!! Congrads to your aunt and uncle for making it to this milestone in their lives. 50 years, wow that has a lot to say in this day and time.

FANTASTIC... I love the eliza eyelet. That is perfect for this card. I love it when cardmakers share their meaning behind a card. Sometimes I think you miss sooooo much if you don't read the goodies. That is why I think a comment made must mean something in return. This is just so touching. I love that you used something so meaningful. Really nice job. Love your shoes..new and old...
