My mom and I have a little.... um... THING for Vera Bradley! (Well, we're both a bit obnoxious... suits us perfectly!) When we first found Vera, we both fell in love with the Java Blue pattern - so much so that I have two purses in that pattern, and my mom has a purse, a duffle bag, a carryon bag... she's such a nut!
Her birthday is today, so I wanted to make her a special "Vera-esque" card. I originally bought this True Friend set because the flowers reminded me so much of the Java Blue pattern, so I just had to try this!
I started with Shimmery White cardstock, stamped all my images on it with Chocolate Chip ink, then colored the flowers in with Soft Sky, Bayou Blue, Taken With Teal, and Close to Cocoa. When that was done, I sponged Soft Sky over the entire piece, then added a bit of Chocolate Chip sponging to the edges (haven't done that in a LONG time!) Then I added all the fabulous white accents with the White Gel Pen. I don't have a ScorPal (yet) so I made my "quilted" marks with my paper cutter and stylus. I lightly sponged Chocolate Chip over the top to accent the scored lines, then finished the card off with a simple popped-up accent and added the rhinestone brad to match. I hope she likes it ... it was a LOT of work!

Wow, what a fabulous card, Kelly! Glad I found it while doing my *vanity* search in the gallery, LOL. Love those colors, and the score line pattern! TFS
