This is for a group of us who have a little fun with our challenges. This weeks challenge was to make a RAK card for someone on a list of four names chosen from the RAK forum. I however, recieved special dispensation this week as I had 5 cards to make for raising money for Cancer..
Sometimes it troubles me that we only ever see pink associated with Cancer - and images of women... because breast cancer/ and women's cancers are but one of the many types on Cancer's that afflict, and sometimes kill people.
Lime Green is the colour that represents Lymphoma, a blood cancer which took my dad's life a year ago.. over a period of 2 years. I made a guy card - and he is wearing a lime green stickles ribbon to recognize that kind of cancer, plus I tried to use lime shebert Bazzil paper..
Thanks for looking!! In honour of my dear dad!

A very beautiful card, and very touching words. This is a very honorable thing to do for your "papa". Something tells me he would have been pleased with what you are doing.
I can relate as I'm sure alot of us sadly can to your grief. Know that I respect that and I don't think I've ever really said, though I've read about your father's passing, my prayers and thoughts are with you and yours.
Thanks for sharing and putting a smile on my face when I see this very delicate attention for all cancer patients, survivors and for the precious ones whom have passed on.
Wow, this really looks fabulous, and I love the green. It helps to do something like this in memory of a loved one, thanks for sharing your card, and your thoughts, with us!

This is so cute. Or handsome I guess is a more appropriate compliment for Edwin. What a great tribute to someone so close to your heart and for a great cause. I love the ribbon. Your coloring is terrific. TFS a wonderful card for such a great reason.

Well ... I don't think I've ever been introduced to Edwin ... what a cutie! Another great card for a great cause! You are doing such a wonderful job on these cards Deb ... I can only imagine how many smiles you are putting on faces with your talent. Your Dad would be so proud of your efforts!!! As you know, I too can feel your pain after loosing my Dad to bone cancer. But many years have passed and the empty feeling isn't quite as bad but this time of the year I think of him often as I do my outside planting. He was a GREAT gardener and taught me everything I know about it! Time does help though ... and I pray your pain lessens with time as mine has!

Deborah- I know that stamping is therapy for us, but to use your gift to bless others and remember your dad is so gratifying. Good to see your talent focused on blessing others! Great 'man' card- bet dad is smiling! LYMI

Deb, my deepest sympathy on the loss of your dad! You did a fabulous job with this card in his honour! Great use of the stickles to create the ribbon and the card is just too cute! Kudos to you, girl, for bringing attention to some of the other types of cancer out there!
