My sister sent me this darling stamp set. I have been thinking all week how I was going to use it....long story short this turned out nothing like I had been thinking about. Somehow though, it just came together. Here are the details.......
Stamped this little horsey twice on water color paper using brilliance graphite black and clear ep. I colored them with re-inkers. I have trouble leaving cards "white" so I was just playing around on one of the images that I thought I would be using to cut out for popping up. So I just kind of painted a background scene, in my mind any way. To others it probably just looks like stripes. LOL.......anyway I put close to cocoa for the ground, old olive for the grass, cool caribbean for sky, summer sun for beginning of a sunset, then finished it off with pumpkin pie and really rust. When I finished, it looked like he was walking into the sunset.....Okay, I was probably in the hot sun too long today, but that's what I saw. By the way, does this kind of remind you of someone's brayering techniques we see?......like Michelle Zindorf. This was sort of inspired by her, but I didn't use a brayer, just brush, water and re-inkers. ...........ended up liking this one so I didn't cut it up.
While at the hardware store, I saw these paint chip samples I liked so I picked a few up. One thing led to another and the ended up being used as background for my little horsey stamp. In other words, I taped two colors together then cut out with my squiggly coluzzle. Did it again only cut out a little larger. Added the doodle lines to match the stamped image, gives it a western look don't you think?
Then I cut out and popped up the head, tail and hoofs. I originally was going to use a spring to pop the tail and then call it a "bobble tail", but I didn't have the right kind of wire. I'll save that idea for another time.
Had a scrap piece of the yellow and white check dp, sponged the edges with distress ink, layered it on top of another piece of dp that I put brads on. Put all of this on top of a gold card. I stamped the sentiment on white cs, cut out, doodled , sponged edges and popped up. Whew!.....didn't seem like this much work late last night. All I know is that it was fun and relaxing to put this together. Hope you enjoy looking at it. TFL :0)
