This is what we made at my Technique Class for May. We also made a Gift Card Holder Card, but I already have that in my gallery. I wanted to use chipboard and keep it kind of simple, since the other project took a little more time. I got the idea for dying the white taffeta ribbon from my sister, Stacy. She has some great ideas in her gallery (smccain).
Here's the text on the card:
Dyed Ribbon
• Take a piece of White Taffeta Ribbon and color one side using the fat tip of the 1st marker. Turn over and use the fat tip of the 2nd marker on the sides where the white is still showing. Do not use a dark color on the outer edges as it will bleed into the ribbon. Use a blender pen and ink refills for the In Colors.
• Cut desired length of ribbon. Spray water into a small container and add drops of reinker. (2 water to 1 reinker) The mixture will be much darker than the finished product. Place the ribbon in the container. Press the ribbon into the mix until fully saturated. Remove the ribbon and place it on a paper towel to absorb any excess moisture. Blot with the paper towel to speed the drying process.
