It had been ages since I'd gotten out my embosssing materials, but when I did my card for Monday's embossing and watercoloring challenge I remembered how much fun it it to see the powder melt. Well ever since then, I'd been thinking about an idea to two step emboss with different powders. Tonight I got out the materials again and gave it a try, and I'm really happy with the way the different metals melted together for the layers of the roses and leaves. Here's how I basically did it:
I stamped the base image of a two step stamp set in versamark and embossed it in silver. Once it cooled I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the next layer in versamark, but this time I added gold embossing powder. When I melted it the silver and gold fused together. I did the same for the leaves, but used copper as the base and gold for the top layer.
After the roses were embossed I sponged them with the red and orange inks, cut them out and tweaked the layout til I was happy. What do you think?

This tech really came out beautiful -- and you picked the perfect 2-step stamp image to test it out. I love to emboss, so I will be trying this for sure. tyfs
