I was trying a new watercolor-type technique today (okay, so I was just having fun with my spray bottle and my Aquapainter!), and I came up with this flower. I really like that part (although it's TOTALLY not my usual style!), but I'm just not thrilled with the rest of the card. I tried some organdy ribbon at the top first, but it was too overpowering. Then I pulled out the cording and decided to string a few beads on (never done that before), and it's okay but not great. What would YOU do to improve this card?

For the flower, I used my BB and GG markers to color on the stamp, then used the Aquapainter to color it in. Then I just sprayed tons of water on it and smeared everything around, then added touches of EE around the edges. For a few seconds there I was afraid the BB and GG were going to make a lovely muddy brown color, but I just pulled that mess off the edge of the cardstock and it turned out okay. This Shimmery White is amazing... I literally SOAKED the paper three or four times, and it held up great.
I think the part that I'm least happy with is the cord. It just doesn't look right to me. But if I take it off, I feel like I have to re-arrange everything. I was trying to go with the rule of threes and the sorta triangle design thing to draw your eye around the card, but I think I failed!

I love it just the way it is! It is very pretty, I love the colors and the beads and background, your rose is gorgeous, altogether you have a beautiful card!!
I actually think you did a great job. I love the card. I think you're just being too hard on yourself. Give yourself a pat on the back for doing wonderful job. It's great, really!!

I like the card too. If you are unhappy with it, you might try adding a couple more strings of the cord (total of 3) to it. The one may look a little skimpy to you. Try that.

I love this card! I wouldn't change it. in fact I may have to copy it somethime. it's lovely. and I love the beads on the cord. I'm gonna start demoing this! TFS
Absolutely GORGEOUS card! I wonder how it would look if you added a copule of black beads to the white ones? Seems like it would tie in with the black embossing of the sentiment and the black outline of the flower...kwim?

Thank you for all the nice comments. I like the idea of adding multiple strings of cord... would you just loop it around more times or add additional ends hanging down? And I really would like to add black beads, but unfortunately I only have the Neutrals with the silver, clear, and white. (I also wanted more variety of bead shapes, but couldn't get the other ones strung on the cord.)
