What an awesome inspiration challenge, Anne! Thanks for taking up hosting duties. I was inspired by the vibrant colors in the different glasses.
I needed to make an sympathy card for a dear friend who lost her father yesterday...and it is a celebration of sorts for her and a homecoming for her father. My dragonfly is of the violet darter variety...it is the most common type. I used watercolor pencils and twinkling H2O's. The image is inked with Archival sepia onto watercolor paper. I took advantage of the Sketch Challenge archives to find a layout that would suit my image. I was intriqued by the latch on this one (SC32). The card base is from MME Mellow 'Sweet'. I used the Delightful Berry side and then added a strip from Basic Grey's Sultry Posh. The latch is also cut from the POSH paper. I added a K&co embossed Journey sticker to reinforce the edge of the latch paper and used Basic Grey rub-ons across the narrow edge between the slits, this is for Sharon Johnson's ssnotime challenge 34. On the inside, I painted with Making Memories acrylic paint in Capri and Melon to cover the damask print and create a base for my message.
I value all the resources on SCS that teach me, inspire me, and allow me wonderful cyberfriends who encourage me on a daily basis. Thanks always for the time you give to my work...
