I am loving the new Home and Heart special issue magazine from PaperCrafts. In it are several baby shower ideas and one of these diaper cakes was featured. I thought, 'I can do that'!! So I made this one! After checking a couple of websites confirming how I thought it was made and combining instructions to make it super easy (the magazine does not give much instruction), I put it together in about 2 1/2 hours. I am now going to start taking orders to make these for my friends who need baby shower gifts as it was a HUGE hit at the party! And yes, they are actual disposable diapers opened and rolled up tight and secured with rubber bands.
Listing of "Accessories" here as there may not be room in the box below (I think it only allows so many characters):
About 70 Disposable Diapers, Big Bottle of Baby Powder, 4 oz. Baby Bottle, Rubber Ducky, Rubber Bands, Terrifically Tacky Tape, Primas, Chipboard Letters, Buttons, Jump Rings, Glue Dots, Cardboard Cake Base by Wilton, Adhesive Flowers, Various Ribbon

Fabulous! Aren't they a blast to make?! I made one for a friend's baby shower and it was a big hit, too. I'm going to make one next month for a bride-to-be at her bridal shower with towels. Should be interesting...
