Mother's Day Gift Card Holder TLC165 - Opens Vertically!

I used the instructions from this blog: http://pinefeather.typepad.com/pine_...gift-card.html to learn how to make these cute gift card holders - and then I played with the parts a little bit to create this vertical-opening card. Sorry my pictures turned out a bit blurry today.

The original instructions use 1 piece of cardstock to create the entire gift card holder. To make it vertical, I had to use 2 pieces of cardstock. The 'outside' cardstock (Cardstock Piece #1) is cut as 3" x 8.5" & scored at 4.25". The 'inside' cardstock (Cardstock Piece #2 - the part that holds the gift card) is 2.5" x 9", and is scored @ .5", 4.5", and 8.5". The 1/2" scored sections of the CS Piece #2 should be adhered to the inside of CS Piece #1. I then matted the inside of CS Piece #1 to 'hide' the seams of CS Piece #2.

Hope those instructions make sense to whomever wants to try this version! TFL

This is really pretty. Love the diamond pattern you stamped.
