I was chomping at the bit to give these traditionally fun, bright party images a little WAXYO spin and had fun watercoloring this sweet package with shades of brown and purple. I once read in a magazine that you only need to keep one roll of wrapping paper on hand - white or kraft in color - and various ribbons to make each gift appropriate for the occasion. I've been doing this for about a year and it's amazing how stunning a simply wrapped package can be...and, if you use a higher quality ribbon, it is re-usable for the recipient. Very cool!
For this card, each layer is sponged for more depth. I just picked up this amazing hemp/twine at a store in St. Louis that we stumbled upon a couple of weeks ago...I couldn't get enough!
Thanks for looking!

Stunning card! Love the twine. I used to shop at a store that just used brown bags, but would always tie it up with at least 5 different kinds of ribbons. I thought it was the greatest, and would re-use the ribbon on my own packages!

If that isn't something! And here I thought I needed to stay with bright, modern designer papers and colors. You've opened my eyes to new possibilities. Love this card AND the colors!
