I made this card for today's Try a New Technique Challenge. Stacked Ribbon is two or more layers of ribbon used as an embellishment. I have seen lots of cards in the gallery using the 'Pick A Petal' stamp set to make lady bugs and I wanted to give it a try. All the ribbon I used on my card is from Offray. It took me awhile to get the ribbon just right (I even ironed it) and I had to use staples to hold it together.
I stamped the lady bug wings with the petal stamp using real red ink and then I used a pencil eraser as a stamp for the black dots. I didn't have a small enough circle punch for the lady bug's head, so I used the solid circle stamp from 'Petal Pushers' stamp set and I inked it using black stazon and then I cut out the circle.
The red background is embossed using the Spots & Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder. I'm really having a great time playing with my new cuttlebug.
Thanks for Looking!
