Note to self: DO NOT hoard rub-ons...do not stash, do not stock up!...Thanks though Julia for this challenge, it reminds me to USE MY STUFF!!!!!
Don't you love it when you don't have a clue where you are going creating today and the muse kicks in? That's exactly what happened to me early this morn. I knew I wanted to make a card for a dear friend who is stepping out in faith and going on her first women's retreat...her favorite color is blue. This is where I jumped off...
I used old rub-ons (can you tell) from the Michaels' $1 bin several years ago. I must have scrubbed the JOURNEY for 5 minutes before it transfered onto the Basic Grey Periphery 'Syrah' paper. I cut this framed edge of the paper and distressed it with the MM tool. On the other side, I went upscale with the sky blue flourish rub-on from Fancy Pants. It was a much more expensive product and did work better. I used a wonderful Stamp Francisco Holy Bible stamp at the top directly stamped onto the brown cs. I inked it once in VersaMagic sea breeze and again in VersaColor black then embossed in clear. Now I needed to add a closure...which happens to be the pop top off Stagg chili. I loved that it was so big and saved it from chili dog night last week! I added fancy ribbons to one side and glued it under my journey panel. There is enough give in it for opening. A fast and fun card...
So repeat after me..."I WILL NOT HOARD rub-ons, I WILL NOT BUY cheap rub-ons (unless someone out there knows how to revive them), I WILL NOT STOCK UP.....thanks for looking and as always your comments are very welcome!

Beautiful shabby chic looking card. Love the colors and rub-ons.
